A wonderful long-range medium. LB 2-X's may seem useless, but they have a huge range, and the cluster shot makes hits more likely. Sometimes one point of damge makes the difference between defeat and victory. It also conserves ammunition and handles heat well. If you're careful about firing the LRM's, this configuration is murder on lights and a threat to slower heavies. |

Nod bad for a light sniper. Sure, the 2X doesnt have the damage of the Bigger Guns, but there isnt anything that can match a range of 30 hexes. With virtually no heat, and 45 shots per ton, dont be afraid of trying the shot when you need to roll a 12 to hit.
At closer ranges the LRM adds a nice ammount of damage to back up the LBX. The two weapons pose a serious threat to light mechs, and some medium-weight mechs as well.
I see the pulse lasers more as a deterrant than as true weapons on this model. More to keep enemies at arms legnth than to encourage close in combat.
A nice support mech for light stars, or to round out a battle star. |

This variant is the one commonly used in my area. And it speaks for itself. The two LPL are enough! The LRM are nice and fairly convincing back-up. At this stage, even with the extra heat sinks, the heat scale is even. So adding a super long-range harrassment gun is not such a bad idea!
