Overview:
    With only 90 ever manufactured, the HBK-2b was earmarked for SLDF Royal CAAN Regiments,
    being itself a variant on the 'Star League' version of the Hunchback HBK-4G, the HBK-2. The
    Hunchback HBK-2 was identical in all regards to the HBK-4G aside from the use of only Terran
    Hegemony manufactured parts and later on a GM fusion engine, rather than the eventually
    Draconis Combine manufactured Nissan. Intended as a 'Mechbuster' operating in built up
    areas, the HBK-2b was a straightforward upgrade. Swapping out all heat sinks for double
    strength models and dropping three of them, the legs were modified for Rawlings 50 model
    jump jets, granting 120 meters of jump capability and significantly improving the mobility
    of the battlemech. Ferro-Fibrous armor was installed, shaving a ton of weight off the armor
    mass for equivalent protection. The head mounted small laser was instead replaced by a
    medium pulse laser, granting the mech increased short range damage potential. The result was
    well received, but the intense fighting of the Periphery Uprising and Amaris Civil War
    destroyed all but three of the model, all of which were taken with General Kerensky with him
    on his Exodus.
