All in all a good brawler with a serious long range weapon. Good armor, jump jets for close combat mobility and a hatchet heavy enough for head chopping capability make this a dangerous foe under the right circumstances. The (planned) introduction is a bit late for a mech with only succession war equipment.

A well armored and respectably armed 'Mech for lvl 1 tech, but it should have come sooner. It would be a very good unit for the war of 3039, but it gets outdated quickly without upgrades. With the clans and newer IS units reaching the battlefield in greater numbers the Ono has to retreat either to the role of an ambusher, or to that of a shield. Attempting to run down the enemy while catching the shots that would otherwise target better armed units behind it. It's armament resemble the old 5SS Thunderbolt, but the heat dissipation lacks the capacity to handle everything. Nothing an experienced pilot couldn't handle. I think that using the right terrain and aggressive tactics would be the key to this 'Mech. No foolish fire exchanges with gauss carriers. |
