Overview:
The Original Pillager model produced during the star league was one of a group of mechs that
were lost due to lack of production facilities for its potent Gauss rifles during the first
and second succession wars. The chassis and armor were standard grade materials so several
of the mechs survived past the loss of the Star League tech. One of the most common refits
that were common with unfinished models from Hildco. was the replacement of the advanced
Gauss rifles for LRM racks of similar potency and a number of single heat sinks. This left
the mech under tonned though till an idea to replace the Large laser with a Ceres Metals
PPC. This retrofit was common until the numbers of Pillager mechs coming in for it was
    reduced to unprofitable levels.

Capabilities:
Armed with two LRM 15 racks and one PPC this is a fearsome dueler until its ammunition would
give out. At which point it would often try and corner its opponent using its jump jets to
best advantage to bring its medium lasers to bear while trusting its massively armored
    exterior to keep it alive.

A tactic that was often used is to charge an enemy building little heat while a seemingly
unslowing barrage of missiles and PPC fire began a force of intimidation. Then Switching
off its LRM batteries for its med lasers it would try to close to the point it could punch
or kick its opponent with its intimidating visage and claw like hands.

Sadly this often led to pillager pilots being deep into enemy territory as is allies were
pushed back without its presence. These seemingly common losses may have been the primary
reason Hildco. never restarted the chassis for widespread production until after the end of
Helm memory core allowed the advanced model to be produced once more.

Deployment:
This refit was common only among the area around the Capellan confederation after the first
and second succession war. While at one time a fairly common mech after centuries of
warfare it lacked the ability to replace numerous components that were no longer produced.
So many of these mechs were held together with scavenger tactics their appearances were
altered severly many were even thought to be heavily overhauled Atlas mechs. Thus at the
beginning of the fourth succession the number of Pillager battlemechs could be no more than
a mere handful or two scattered mainly among Capellan Confederation units.

Variants:
This Refit while popular was not the only but most if not all other standard refits were
    lost during the succession wars.

Notable MechWarriors:
Sang-wei Randal Gibbson a lance commander of the Red Lancers during the end of the second
succession war. When a counter attack by a fast medium company hit his unit his first order
was "to close and allow the enemy blood to ease their aching knee acutators." While
normally a good way to get his heavy and assault lance surrounded its timing was good enough
to have each mech in the lance several full strength or in the case of Gibbson allow his
hundred ton mech the 20 seconds he needed to blast a hole in the center of an opposing
Wolverine with his lasers and a lucky close range shot with his PPC that knocked down his
opponent just in time to allow the incredible force of a kick directly into the smoking
twisted metal that had covered his opponents engine and gyro. The devastating force covered
the knees of his mech in the molten metal from the downed mech. It was replayed quite often
by his company mates as an example of what Gibbson would do to keep his Actuators properly
    greased.
