Not too good. It needs better armor (there was an improvement, but not enough). Flamer can be handy, especially with good wind, but the MGs weren't bad either. AMS is much less useful without full armor. The Stinger is Militia machine, not front line fighter. Keep it away from combat. I give it average rating because it has hands and flamer, so it can serve in noncombat roles as well, but if it faces serious opposition then it should leave to call the cavalry.

Not a good upgrade in my eyes!
An AMS is not of much use for a 20ton machine. Maybe a BAP or ECM would have been a better choice.
I don´t like the flamer instead of the MG´s but thats only me.
Only the increased armor is an advancement.

This might be acceptable as an upgrade from an old 3G or 3R, but as a newly produced machine in 3050 it is simply outclassed.

This mech suffers in that no one told the designer that 3050 chews through battlemechs this slow in a scout fight.
Jump jets can only save you for so long, although I've had much success with jumping and the AMS stopping SRMs from light mechs.
The flamer has to go and armour has to go up if you want to survive in 3050+.

I'm thinking that this would be an okay design for elemental hunting. Not sure what the effects of flamers on battlesuits, if it's nominal then swap it out for second medium laser or upgrade the medium to a pulse. Just depends on whether you prefer to have extra firepower or easier time shooting the elementals out of the air.
