Overview:
    When the Avatar was deployed in the second half of the 3050s, many of its
    "standard configurations ape[d] those of the Vulture, with arm pods favoring
    direct-fire weapons" (TRO:3058U, p.144). During the development process, technicians
    were thrilled to learn that their new 'Mech could even support the load-out of the
    Vulture C: 2 Gauss Rifles.
    The configuration became a standard-issue option for officers and was aptly named K
    in honour of the Combine's ruling dynasty.

Capabilities:
    The Avatar's increased weapons bay compared to the Clan Vulture catered nicely
    for the larger size of the Inner Sphere Gauss Rifles. When comparing the base chasses, the
    Inner Sphere design shines - it may be slower but mounts more armour, does not waste any
    fixed heat sinks on the heat-less Rifles and can always fall back on its two hard-wired
    medium lasers.
    Kuritan pilots enjoy using this variant against the Clans, as it provides them with primary
    weaponry that is in no way inferior to its Clan equivalent.

Deployment:
    While this configuration was created at the Avatar's inception, it has remained rare
    due to a lack of available Gauss Rifles. Whereas the weapons' availability increased during
    the 3060s, many DCMS officers switched to the Clan-equipped configurations that became more
    common during the aftermath of Operation Bulldog.
    Whether this in turn means a supply of K-configuration Avatars to rank and file
    troops remains to be seen.
