It seems that you are getting somewhere with your designs. The speed is already within acceptable levels and the 'Mech is well armoured. The weapons look formidable, at least on paper, but the heat is still an issue.
You usually want to be able to fire your long or medium range bracket with reasonable heat buildup. Two ER large lasers and UACs are producing way to much heat. Try to keep the heat around 4 on the move when you design the brackets. Lasers alone are fine, but they'd be better with one or two more DHSs. UACs will do their work, but in conjunction with the lasers they produce too much heat. At short range it's better because the SRMs don't fire every time, but I wouldn't rely on this, because assaults are likely to be piloted by elite clan gunners.
I think you'd get an improvement by installing a FF armour and some heat sinks, which would help to fix the heat issues without sacrificing protection. Turning the medium lasers backward may also be an option, although it isn't necessary, because the arms can be flipped to rear arc. I'd also consider moving the ammo and weapons around a little, distributing them more evenly around.
Not bad, but there is still some work to be done. Definitely an improvement over your previous designs. Some fluff would be nice and Please FORGET about alpha-strikes with this. 73 heat is enough to shut you down and detonate the ammo! |
