Overview:
    The Slasher is aptly named because of the Hatchet which it wields with fierce determination
    in its right arm.  Blacknight Industries makes this 'Mech more fearsome looking by painting
    ominous designs on the hatchet blade.  BI, in a bizarre move, has announced a warranty on
    the blade itself.  They claim that it will never get dull, and have guaranteed this with a
    lifetime warranty.
    
    The Slasher was an instant success amongst the Periphery forces as well as Mercenary Units.
    because of the initial success, many of the Inner Sphere Houses have placed orders for
    several lances of the design.

Capabilities:
    The main purpose of this design was for close in combat in either city environments or
    within wooded areas and hills.  The LRM-10 can soften the armor as you approach.  Moving at
    a top speed of 64.8 kph, the Slasher isn't a speed demon, but can close on most other medium
    designs and heavier.  The 4 Jump Jets give it added maneuverability for hilly terrain and
    city fighting.
    
    Once the Slasher closes, it is a devastating menace as the 6 Left Torso mounted Medium
    Lasers can shred any opponent.  The hatchet likewise adds to this damage as it can dish out
    severe blows that can decapitate any BattleMech on the field with one mighty strike.
    
    Blacknight Industries has mounted the maximum amount of armor possible onto this design.
    realizing that it will take damage as it closes, and needing to insure that it will stand
    long enough to close.  This design has been best used with heavier designs as the heavier
    designs take the brunt of the attack, allowing it to close.

Deployment:
    The Slasher is most popular amongst the Periphery States, where Blacknight Industries tends
    to do most of its business.  The heaviest buyer to this point has been Illyrian Palatinate
    while the Outworlds Alliance has yet to test or place an order for this design.  Several
    mercenary units have found this design very handy as well, especially those units operating
    within the Federated Commonwealth.
