Its hard to get used to the idea of the Capellans building 100 tonners, but this 'mech feels Capellan. For a start, this is nice and cheap. Second, its very durable. It's slow, but with a standard engine its very hard to kill.
In a head-to-head comparison with a Thunderhawk or Devastator it looses points for the lack of short range weapons.
There are a couple of pretty simple workarounds for the point defense deficiency. Going to an ER PPC would help fix this problem, although this would generate more of a heat load. The 'mech could also loose its extra heatsink in exchange for a medium laser, but the best solution is to loose two tons of gauss ammunition. |

Two Gauss rifles on an assault chassis are quite common, but the additional benefit of ultra-heavy stealth armor and standard engine make the 'Mech much more interesting. Ammo supplies for the gauss rifles is large enough to allow the pilot to try some tough shots and PPC can provide an additional boost to firepower. The lack of short range weapons may be felt, but the minimal ranges aren't that bad. I must also mention that the Spirit Dancer doesn't suffer from heat dissipation problems or speed decrease which appeared on many other stealth equipped designs. Nice work. |

Stealth armor is a rare sight for most assault mechs. I can see this sniper getting most out tof this but the small laser or PPC won't help you in a knife fight situation.
Upgrade the small to an ER small at least. I am certain that heat will be a problem if an ERPPC is used. An ERLL will barely retify the problem or how bout just get a quad of medium lasers to fix this flaw ? The rest can go to 1 more DHS and more Gauss ammo for fun !
This mech can last damn well long with its thick hide and stealth so more Gauss ammo might actually work. |
