The change from the MRM to an LRM-15 is nice and easy to make but why adding tonnage? This prevents this variant to be used as an upgrade of existing Akumas. |

I have no problem with LRMs and using one type of SRMs instead of two seems like good idea to me (they could use two tons of ammo, but one suffices) as well as CASE and C3. There is one flaw here, you increased weight (without explanation). According to the fluff it shouldn't make problems, but you still need a different engine. By removing 0.5t of armor and two tons of equipment you may drop the weight back to 90 t (another 2t from engine and 0.5t from IS). I would probably drop one of the SRMs and install the Artemis IV FCS for LRMs, a rear facing laser or some more LRM ammo. |

Pretty good. It gives the mech the range that the original seemed to lack. While the LRMs have that pesky 6-hex minimum, the Streaks cover that nicely, making any attempt to maneuver close a risky proposition, at best.
Anyone using this mech is going to have to pay close attention to their heat. This mech carries quite a bit of ammo, and any overheating will, even accidentally, lead to a catastrophic ammo explosion. |

The LRMs are a nice touch here. Depending on your lance makeup it might make sense to drop the C3 for Artemis IV, but the C3 link is worthwhile if you've got the lancemates for it. I also always like seeing Guardian ECM on C3 equipped units; it lets you ECCM under L3 rules anyone who is trying to block out your C3 link.
The long-range weapons are adequate, but I would not want to get into a head-to-head match up with a clan assault unit in one of these; it would simply be outgunned. Additionally, despite 13 DHS, it does not have a lot of heat efficiency. Good bracketing, but not a strong alpha strike. |
