Overview:
"Students! Today we'll examine completely botched mech..." elderly professor overlooks the
classroom with cold , analytical stare "... the work of our beloved Killroy, the star of the
class, he loves this school so much that he cannot leave us six years after his former
classmates started teaching here." the class went suddenly silent "Good, It seems that I
finally caught your attention!" with devilish expression on his face professor continues.
"Dear Killroy, you are not aware how happy I am to say that I quit with teaching here today.
I couldn't get you fired from the academy directly, but I took are of your combat trials
this year. Be assured that there will be NO cheating this time and you'll sit in your own
mech" data crystal lands on the table "This mech" "but sir, ..." "SHUT UP!"
Capabilities:
"Now to your ... aehm ... creation." projector quickly translates the data fro crystal to
three dimensional model "Aside from the fact that you overstressed the gyro and violated
thousands of minor limitations ..." whole model starts glowing with red and yellow spots
marking overstressed connections, power junctions that are susceptible to short circuits and
other flaws "... you made several ..." old man takes deep breath " ... serious mistakes."
The projector starts showing various details from the project. "Overloading laser
connections in your left arm is one thing, but placing both weapons to one spot is serious
flaw, especially when the spot is armored just enough to be lost to medium laser hit. This
brings me to second grave mistake you made, the armor." Another deep breath "Medium lasers
will just take your arms, either with your weapons, or with all electronics. With engine,
that doesn't loose wight with XL technology, large laser will tear your leg, if you're
lucky, or demolish your side torsos wen you are not and PPC may kill you immediately"
Picture focuses on head section. "Now look at this, you installed so large glass panel on
your head that you don't have any protection. At least you may be sure that you'll see what
killed you. Another thing is your seat. It may look cool to have it made from empty shells,
but you made it from from Full MG magazine. Perhaps the rear mounted MG was installed to
prevent your mischievous class-mates from blowing you up with match throwing." The image
focuses on arms. "And look at this. Two swords may look dangerous, but you can use only one
of them and one of them. Left sword cannot be used when you try to use your lasers, while
blow with right sword probably puts all electronics out of action, because you forgot about
shock absorbing mounts." Refocus on engine. "Here is the core of the design, the fusion
reactor. You used this bulky model, that doesn't give you any advantage, but makes the mech
extremely fragile. And it's equipped with single heat sinks, that prevent you from doing
anything with Stealth armor engaged and without the ability to handle the heat from your
weapons." The projector goes suddenly silent and the image disappears "And to crown it all,
you CASE-ed empty location and included C3 link that is disrupted by stealth technology."
"Sir I ..." "... have two days to pack all your things." with satisfied look old professor
leaves the room.

please make sure no one ever uses this mech it could end up being a death trap for the poor sap who is stupid enough to use it in combat. definitely give it a 5 for the text which quite hilarious.

Unlike the others I rate this highly because of its fluff.
I would actually love to use this in a scenario. Maybe after a particularly brutal mission when the player has to attack a well defended academy. After losing alot of mechs and equipment, maybe they are forced to salvage the on site training mechs. :D
There really isn't enough fun designs like this out there.

Wow! Equipment placement, heat dissipation, cost, speed, armor... the list just goes on and on! A definite 5 for fluff but the mech itself is a 0. But for the concept alone I can't bring myself to rate it such so Ill give it a .5 ^^

Bravo. A 5 for fluff, certainly. This is pretty much every flaw one sees in a 'Mech, and should be mandatory reading for anyone new to designing.
And Mr. Killroy is a very strong argument for Clan-style, live-fire training.
