A true classic. If you want direct fire on a budget, this is your mech. |

Decent little scrapper, this machine. But not worth much outside of a lance. And ironically, it works better with machines larger than it due to the low power curve of the engine. The design itself mounts heavy firepower, and very good armor. But in return, it is pretty slow, especially for its size.
It's not that hard to fix though. With the help of my trust copy of HeavyMetal (hey, pen and paper is nice, but I always seem to make mistakes that way), you only need 2 tons to make this design 5/8/4. Little more if you want jumping the full distance. Assuming your unit has one of these, and the ability to get their hands on a 175 fusion engine, I suggest you either 2) drop 2 heatsinks and mount the engine, or 1) remove 1 HS, the SRM/4 and ammo and replace the engine, add a jump jet, and add 3 SMLAS. My personal opinion, but I haven't tested that in play either. Might if I captured another Panther.
So, solid machine...but just too slow for me. Sorry House Kurita fans. If it makes you feel better, you can go make fun of all the strange Davion flamer variants of otherwise sane light 'Mechs. |

Ahh, one of the sweetest mechs around. PPC is really dangerous in 3025 era and SRMs are good at covering the min. range of the main gun. When these machines enter the field in greater numbers, it's going to be hot today. Having something else between you and the enemy would be good thing since it allows your PNT to snipe at the enemy without being disturbed.
Do I need to say why it got 5 from me? (okay, DCMS here). |

The original 3025 light weight nightmare and destroyer of scout mechs! Deadly in cities and used in ambushes supporting faster light weight mechs. "Hey locust! want to play? This won't hurt very long..." |

This little beaut is usually best deployed with 3/11/35 other Panthers. Not too bad on its own, either. Its slow, but it has the firepower to maim anything else in its class. It's armour is just a touch light, but thats perfect for a workhorse. |
