Lets see. Brutal firepower, good armor. That are the good points. On the other side: Without any ranged weapon it's mission profile is that of an ambusher. No one will close to this in a more open environment. Beside the problem that it goes through its ammo real fast, where are the heatsinks to make use of its full damage potential? It cannot even fire all three UAC's in single shot mode without getting heat. |

I agree with Erenon. Lyran engineers needed 10 years to make a working UAC/20. I doubt that merc techs can do it.
UACs have enough ammo to fire a long and very devastating barrage, but as many people already mentioned, heat will kill you quickly, so the ACs are probably going to stay with single mode of fire. Backup and long range weapons are (almost) nonexistent - that's bad for a slow assault machine. The lack of CASE was already mentioned and the XL engine doesn't help to ensure safety. The 'Mech is far from trouble free. |

Indeed the concept is scary but I think piloting one would be even scarier. That huge ammo risk as well as no long range weapons, would make me feel like a walking powder keg. Plus the heat ratio just doesn't fit. Perhaps replacing one Ultra with an ER PPC and some more DHS or maybe an LRM system. |

I knew a guy who would design mechs like this because they were 'cool'. Yeah, right.
On the plus side, this thing will abosolutely vaporize light and medium mechs with one broadsides from its ACs. Heck, even assault mechs are threatened.
What bothers me is the heat curve on this thing. Standard mode will have the heat creeping up slowly but surely, and ultra mode will overheat this beast Right Now. The mech lacks CASE for just such an event, which is inevitable, making it just shy of a deathtrap.
Not my first, second, or third choice for an assault mech. Sorry, its a bit too risky for my tastes. |

I want to be impressed, after all this has three UAC20s... but look at the heat, it's just plain insane.. you're generating 16 points of heat per UAC when your're firing at double rate... that adds up to 48 points of heat... take out the 20 points your heat sinks can deal with and well it's rolling time.. i forsee many many ammo explosions...(and as a side not it doesn't have CASE when that happens..). This doesn't take into account walking or its er ml.
Next.. It has no long range weapons period.. a panther could snipe this to death...it's even possible to do so in a city..
Lastly, fluffwise.. this is an inner sphere mech, but you say in the fluff that the UACs were from two Hunchback IICs.. which are clan mechs.. which weigh just 12 tons.. I know of no way the InnerSphere can take a clan UAC and magically turn it into a Innersphere UAC by making it heavier and take up more space.
I wouldn't wanna get caught too close to this.. but i'll get the satisfaction that it has a very good chance of killing itself while killing me..
Bleah.. |
