Overview:
    Encouraged by the success of WTC-4M Watchman, the Federated Commonwealth military decided to
    construct a new Mech to lead lances of Watchmans.
    
    
    
    A tender was sent to most of the major manufacturers and bids returned quickly within a
    month.
    
    
    
    However, the Civil War broke out before any action could be taken and the tender shelved.
    
    
    
    Following the end of the Fedcom Civil War, the Fedcom command broke out the submitted plans
    and awarded the contract for the Guardsman to General Motors, with its price of just under
    3.7 million c-bills per unit.
    
    
    
    Construction of the Guardsman has since begun on Kathil.

Capabilities:
    The Guardsman is a simple mech, with the CASE system protecting its MG ammunition being the
    only piece of new technology.
    
    
    
    Every other system, from its PPC to its trio of Medium lasers, is based on older technology
    that is highly reliable compare with the new tech weapons available.
    
    
    
    The Guardsman carries ranged firepower in its single PPC and backs it up with three medium
    lasers for close in work. Anti-infantry action is handled by its dual MGs on its right arm.
    
    
    
    The Guardsman is also equipped with a 120 metre jump capability, allowing it a degree of
    mobility.

Deployment:
    Several Guardsman Mechs ahve reached second line units within the Capellan March and reports
    seem to indicate that while unexceptional, the Mechs are solid and dependable with extremely
    low (if any) levels of non-combat related downtime.
