Overview:
In 3055, with the expertise gained through the Clan Invasion, Blackwell industries and GM,
who had in the decades before also cooperated on the Marauder II, devised a hunter-killer
'mech on the low end of the medium weight class. While a lot of components are very
advanced, including endo steel which calls for an orbital manufacturing facility, it does
include a standard engine, with the dual function of making this 'mech more survivable and
cheap.
Capabilities:
With its high speed, the Conceptmech is able to catch most light 'mechs in existence. With
its ERPPC it is also very likely to out-range and outgun most enemies which can outrun it.
With its speed and large weapon, this design also finds itself used as an auxiliary
fire-support design. Ideally it fits into lances with large, slow and vulnerable designs.
There it can fulfill both functions: add its own PPC to the barrage, while also protecting
its peers from attacks by enemy light 'mechs that have bypassed the frontlines.
Deployment:
While the Federated Commonwealth were the first to snatch up a contract with GM, they have
deployed most of their Conceptmechs in the Davion portion of the realm, along the Capellan
border. Here it has proven its worth in numerous skirmishes with the Vindicator - a 'mech
with similar armour and weaponry, but which moves at only slightly more than 50% of the
speed of the Conceptmech.
Blackwell, on the other hand, is delivering their output to the Dragoons, which seem to use
it as a stop-gap design while working on their omnimech facilities.

Good sniper, but it lacks the ability to protect itself form faster opponents that can get behind it. It has strong armor, but rear plating isn't strong enough to withstand long exposure to weapon fire.

This mech has good speed for its weight class and the max armour is a plus. It has decent heat control as well .The weapon load is a little weak for a 40 tonner though.Looks to me like a medium trying to be a light.

Simple and effective. Fairly fast packs a nice long range weapon.
A good skirmish unit, scout hunter. Maybe useful for headhunting guty as well

Nice design, inexpensive but effective. This could really assist in clearing some of the pesky lights off the field and snipe the big guys with the ER PPC. Just fire a few shots at the big guns, then use the speed to retreat to another sniping spot. I see much potential with this.
