Overview:
Concerned about the large number of older 4R Enforcers in the realm, and faced with the need
for any Battlemech in the aftermath of the grevious Civil War, the Federated Commonwealth
military issued a tender for an upgrade kit for the ageing Mech.
The tender was won by Achernar BattleMechs, the original manufacturers of the Enforcer, who
proposed using the new Rotary AC/5 as part of its kit, winning support from the Davionist
factions that had entrenched themselves in the military.
Capabilities:
The Archernar upgrade kit replaces the AC/10 of the old 4R with an Rotary AC/5, giving it
better flexibility and firepower.
The old lasers were replaced by ER versions while the newer more efficient electronics
package (the Achenar Electronics HICS-20 communications suite and the Federated Hunter 2
targeting system) freed up space for the addition of a standard medium laser. Use of an ER
medium laser was rejected after the heat it generated raised cockpit temperatures to
unacceptable levels.
The comany also replaced the 12 older heats sinks with 10 double heat sinks and replaced its
armour with a new ferro fibrous composite.
Last but not least, Archernar boosted the ammo capacity of the Enforcer and encased in a
protective sheath.
Deployment:
The first kits have been completed and shipping is expected to begin soon.

Replacing AC/10 with RAC is good idea and additional armor is fine. I would use one ton for more standard armor rather than for another laser, but otherwise its fine.

Its a good refit. I like the idea that every unit that has Enforcers will now have multiple upgrade options. This being the simplest but not neccesarily the best.
The standard engine and RAC I love.
The heat sinks I'm happy with, since your not going to jump jet and fire too many RAC shells, so your heat should do fine.
Armour and jump jets are perfect in my mind. Two compliants though. Its got back armour now.
My Panther would actually have to work hard against an opposing Enforcer now. Good work.
Though the time period is wrong as well. I also dislike the weird way the Enforcer works. The closer it gets to you the LESS lethal it is, at least compared to other designs who gain more firepower as they close with you.

I don't know, I have problems with this one. And I don't mean you forgetting to set the year-scale to the correct post-civil war time! ;)
No, I don't buy Davion refitting 3025-vintage Enforcers with RAC5s in 3067. I mean, by that time it had received a major upgrade in 3050 and a successor model in the Enforcer-III.
I realise that you wanted to to give a good reason for retaining a standard engine, but it didn't really work for me, especially when the rest of the 'mech got upgraded quite a bit.
I do like that it has real back armour now (even though that *is* defeatist!) and the touch with the standard medium laser.

Very nice! An almost complete retrofit of the original. Better range, firepower, staying capacity...this 'mech seems to have the complete package!
Seems to. There is one little niggle: heat efficiency. True, the heat can be managed through fire discipline, but I would rather sacrifice the Medium Laser for another Heat Sink.
Sidenote: The Enforcer has always been one of my favorite 'mechs, ever since my introduction to it in the beginning of Battletech: The Crescent Hawk's Revenge.
