Ten tons heavier Venom with stronger armor, but it removes pulse lasers with ER lasers and some electronics. Stronger armor is nice, but the weapons are a little light for medium. It may act as scout hunter. |

While I like it a bit better than the others, I still have to mark the Sprinter down for the over heating problems. With this speed pulse meds would be better than the er meds. That -2 really helps when jumping 8. I can see why this never made it to production. |

Well it strikes me as having the same problems as the Cicada being the upgrade for the venerable Locust. Doubling the tonnage then adding the larger engine eats up all your savings.
Take the Spider Chassis use the XL engine and you can get two for one instead of this thing.
Other than that its a stable and fairly ineffective design. As the majority of its weapons can't be fired when its dodging at its best. Well technically its just one ER Medium, but that could have paid in tonnaged to flip 2 into 1 pulse to give you a better chance of hitting at those high speeds. |

Kinda mixed feelings here. I love the speed and jumping ability. I, personally do not like the weapons choices. IMO, the ER mediums are too hot for this design. The extra range is superfluous on a design that can go 8/12/8. The armor is great and the speed is awesome. Perhaps if you down grtgaded it to 7/11/7 and use the extra tonnage to revamp the weapon systems....perhaps a pulse laser to help with targeting an opponent during full jumps. They have a shorter range but you have the speed to compensate. Mayhap drop a ton of armor. Nah scratch that, a Lyran wouldn't drop armor. |
