Overview:
    Since Davion troops came across it in the 3020s, it had been assumed that the Devastator is
    a design unique to the Inner sphere. However, there was one thing that no one previously
    considered: the Devastator was originally designed by Aleksandr Kerensky himself. The
    Devastator IIC was designed by Clan Coyote during the 2830s, nearly fifteen years before the
    breakthroughs which lead to the OmniMech. The Coyotes essentially took the stored Devastator
    plans and used Clan technology to perfect the design.

Capabilities:
    The combination of endo-steel internal structure and Clan ferro fibrous armor allows the
    Devastator IIC to carry both significant firepower and strong armor. These lighter materials
    also allow the Devastator IIC to carry a much less expensive standard engine, instead of the
    XL originally called for in the plans. Like the original Inner Sphere version, the
    Devastator IIC's primary armament is a pair of Gauss rifles. Backing up these weapons is a
    pair of ER PPCs, which provide both longer range and heavier damage than the Devastator's
    standard PPCs. The Devastator IIC carries only minimal secondary weapons, instead
    concentrating mostly on its primary armament. To back the PPCs and Gauss rifles, the
    devastator IIC mounts only a pair of medium pulse lasers, along with a single ER medium
    laser to cover the rear.

Deployment:
    A pre-OmniMech assault design, the Devastator IIC now serves mostly in second-line units.
    Although no other Clan has ever produced the design, most Clans field at least a few, gained
    through trading or salvage. Clan Coyote's recent focus on returning to its former glory has
    resulted in a shift in production towards newer designs, and no Devastator IICs have been
    produced for some years. Plans for a short production run are being made however, if only
    because allowing a perfectly good 'Mech design to fade away looks like something only the
    Inner Sphere would do.
