Pretty good. I can see how refiting a National Guard mech would allow it to serve as a frontline fighter, but Im not sure that an ER laser and an armor refit would allow it to be all that effective.
Still, as an easy upgrade, especially in areas that could see increased combat, its a stable and solid retrofit. |

Folks! Read the fluff.
StarRaven's aware the original was a militia mech, but this is an attempt to turn that militia mech into a basic front line unit.
And i think by and large he succeeded.
The 4D isn't all that much more expensive than the original and it has better range and firepower to boot. The number of heat sinks is also very comfortable. |

Installing FF armor on mech, that wants to stay cheap doesn't make sense to me. The armor will constantly produce trouble with maintenance in militia unit. Downgrade one laser to small or MG and use original armor, or just use standard armor without touching the weapons at all. |

I like it. Not much in the way of long range stuff, but this is meant to defend so close quarters combat is to be expected. 27 points of potential damage for a 40 ton 5-8-5 mech WITHOUT an XL engine is darn good. Nice mix of old and new tech. |

Its an effective upgrade to take your Garrision class mech into the useful range, but still it strikes me as carrying the same weapons load out the Wolfhound does.
Its not a bad package, but by 3067 its kind of outdated. Cheap to field though so it scores points. Even mercenaries would want this design as it has enough upgrades to almost be viable in that time period. |
