Overview:
    The product of a joking conversation between two engineers at Corean Enterprises' factory on
    Stewart, the KLCT-1M King Locust is exactly what its name implies: an extremely large
    Locust. Based on a combination between the more standard Locust and the new 5M, the King
    Locust is intended as a reconnaissance 'Mech for high threat environments, much like the
    Charger. But where the Charger was too slow and heavy for its role, the King Locust is
    almost as fast as its smaller brother.

Capabilities:
    The King Locust's primary armament is a single extended range large laser, giving at a
    strong ranged attack which the Locust lacks. Secondary firepower consists of four arm
    mounted ER medium lasers. To aid in its reconnaissance role, the King Locust carries a
    strong electronics suite, including a Guardian ECM Suite and a Beagle Active Probe. Ten tons
    of ferro fibrous armor allow the King Locust to take and survive hits from the even heaviest
    of weapons.  The King Locust's Hermes XL engine gives it a maximum speed of 120 kilometers
    per hour, allowing to keep up with the majority of scouts used in the Inner Sphere. The same
    high speed and thick armor which make the King Locust a strong scout also make it an
    excellent scout hunter.

Deployment:
    The King Locust has not yet been approved by the FWLM. The engineers who came up with the
    idea think that the people responsible for approving the design are still staring at it in
    amazement. At present, only two prototype King Locusts exist.
