A good scout mech, but it's equally good as a defensive unit in a lance. I like keeping an ECM unit around in case someone brings C3 mechs against me. This one is fast, tough and quite well armed for the weight class, and the price is less than other specialists that often mount XL engines.
I wouldn't replace old 2S Wolfhounds as much as mix this version with them. Everyone's got a Large Laser. As long as the 4S doesn't run too fast the enemy won't know which of them carries the electronics. |

Nice, well armed and armored scout and raider. It is much better than 3S. How simple and elegant the mechs can be (well, the cost is probably the only bad thing around, but those, who can afford 3S, can buy this as well). |

Giving this mech a new profile with the larger engine. Its nice/good/average. I like it. I like the idea and for House Steiner it makes sense.
This is a good upgrade for an over rated design in my mind. Sure it loses out in some ways but Steiner forces have been crying out desperately for a good scout mech for a long time and this could be it. |

Now this is an upgrade that makes sense. The speed increase and additional of an electronics suite is well worth the added vulnerability that comes with a light engine. |

I like this mech the improved speed and armour make this a useful deep penetration raider the ECM helps it escape detection while the Beagle probe is good for ferreting out hidden units and it does have sufficient firepower to cause real problems . The thick armour and all energy based ordnance load means that this mech can stay in the field for extended periods and operate far from supply depots.The heat control is good as well so it can fight an extended engagement and it has sufficient speed to extract itself from tight situations. |
