LRMs make good ranged weapons, but on this mech their role is just secondary. Lasers are dangerous, but smalls may be exchanged for something else (small micro lasers would make nice surprise for infantry), but otherwise it can work well in BT. On PC it can easily overpower opponents that get too close, because it's easier to target one location with alpha-strike. (rated as computer game design, normally you cannot add armor and move ES and FF crits around chassis) |

Jade Falcon Mods to the Timberwolf always leave me shaking my head.
Its effective in close range and has the clan advantage due to heavy armour and clan XL engines. But still in a clan on clan battle this machine will die way too fast.
It lacks the ranged weapons to compete against clanners, but will fair quite well against the IS. Still little better than average in the long run. |

All right, but not great. Except for the LRMs, most of the firepower's somewhat short-ranged. The ER smalls will do a lot of damage, but it's a bit slow for getting that close. It's like a Locust from Hell. It also runs pretty hot, although alternating weapons can handle that.
Something that really really annoys me is the fact that this is not a Mad Cat. A Mad Cat has seven free crits (not ten) in each side torso, and one in the CT. They publish the space allocation for a reason. |

In a weird kind of way, this 'mech actually makes a lot of sense. Those clusters of ER lasers make it a dangerous in-fighter. |
