I have always struggled to like the Barghest. The mech design in the tech readouts is as ugly as sin (why oh why must the later TRO's insist in oversizing the weapons? That AC20 is big enough to fire elementals!)
Anyway, it has never performed that well for me, and simply making it clan also doesn't exactly solve the problem. I guess as long as its fighting IS forces it will do very well. But I'm still not completely convinced... |

An ugly thing with a lot of firepower concentrated in big guns. The ECM is always a nice addition, as are the heat sinks. Maybe after dropping one DHS for an Active Probe would turn it to a good heavy scout. |

I'd argue this mech could drop some DHS and strap on something else for in close ammo. As its over cooled in my opinion.
Its a good refit and better than the original but still not the king of its class. |

I like this varient of the Barghest.
Using the right weapon for the job, heat is unknown to this four legged monster.
The twin ER LL's give the Mech teeth at long range while the large bore autocannon ensures that any foolish enough to close will regret the decision.
Like its Inner Sphere brother, this mech can lope along pretty rapidly for something its size, allowing it to dictate terms to most mechs its size or larger.
Now if only it jumped... |
