Overview:
Of the new BattleMechs introduced in the Inner Sphere with rediscovered and technology, the
Nightstar is one of the most effective. Created by Clan Wolf-in-Exile, the Nightstar IIC
OmniMech is quite capable of destroying any opponent, Clan or Inner Sphere.
As the Nightstar IIC slowly becomes more popular, more variants are coming into service.
Most of them stick with the Prime's layout of a pair of heavy weapons, with energy backups.
Two are close combat machines, while the other two are fire support 'Mechs. While the jump
jets and ER PPC are not part of the base chasis, every current variant does carry them. As
with many Clan 'Mechs, the Nightstar IIC often has overheating problems.
Capabilities:
The primary problem with the Naga has always been its defenselessness. Although this
mattered little before, the exiled Wolves cannot afford such wastefulness in their current
situation. Like the Naga, the Nightstar IIC D mounts a pair of Arrow Missile systems to
provide long range artillery support. However, with three ER Large lasers and an ER PPC, the
D is anything but defenseless. Jump jets let it get into superior firing positions, and
eight tons of ammunition let it maintain fire for longer than many other 'Mechs with similar
purpose. The only inferiority to the Naga is the Nightstar's low top speed and its heat
inefficiency.

Clearly superior to the Naga thanks to heavy armor and ammo load. Secondary weapons are formidable, but there are not enough heatsinks to use them (and not enough space to do anything else).

A good artillery-mech with lots of armor and serious non artillery weapons. 3 ERLL and a ERPPC pack a huge punch but even if it fires 2 of them it overheats! If you dare to fire all 4 while walking you´ll experience automatic shutdown, with 8t of Ammo in it! BOOOOOM!!!
Please rip out 2 of the ERLL, give it standard internal structure and you´ll have 3,5t and 9 crits for more HS and a bit of shortrange firepower or electronics.
