Overview:
The PHX-2 was designed by Capellan scientists as a testbed for the triple-strength myomer
technology captured from the Federated Suns during the Fourth Succession War. So far, only
two Phoenix Hawks are believed to have been so modified, although the fractional nature of
Liao politics under Romano Liao means it is uncertain whether or not even Capellan
intelligence sources have reliable information on this design.
Capabilities:
The PHX-2 replaces the Large Laser traditionally employed on almost all Phoenix Hawk
variations with a PPC stripped from a scrapped Griffin. The changeover caused Capellan
engineers few problems, as both weapons shared similar designs, and the Phoenix Hawk's Star
League vintage targeting and tracking computers had plenty of unused processing capability,
allowing it to successfully adapt to the longer range of the PPC. Heat problems, a
traditional headache for Phoenix Hawk pilots, are of course magnified by the switch; only a
suicidal or desperate pilot will fire all of the PHX-2's weapons and jump in combat, but the
'mech's heat sinks are generally capable of dealing with salvo firing. Liao engineers also
have made a virtue out of necessity by installing triple-strength myomer, making the
overheating Phoenix Hawk an entirely more dangerous foe than it once was.
Deployment:
The PHX-2 was reportedly deployed by the Death Commandos during the War of Andurien
Succession, and later appeared with Capellan forces in the Chaos March. The design is
difficult to identify unless it opens fire with the PPC, but astute pilots can often pick
out the difference in the design of the machine's hand-held weapon.

Comment:
TSM improves original PXH performance, even PPC helps it keep the enemy at bay from range, but weapons in arms force it to alter weapons fire and punching.

I really like it, it kind of needs 2 small lasers to keep it perfectly balanced at the sweet spot of TSM. The PPC is kind of a waste, because with TSM its going to be adding too much heat to really handle. Because if you want to run, then you need 8 heat to balance it perfectly. A Large Laser would be perfect, so would two Mediums and two Small lasers. Takes some work but you can manage with this setup even still.
I can definately see this as a Liao design. The fluff is particularly good.

Even using the normal weapons load the PHX is a good candidate for TSM upgrading. The change to a PPC just makes it that much more deadly.

Want to generate heat for the TSM? Just plug in a PPC. This would make a good Hawk to spring on the occasional inattentive opponent. The only problem is that this will overheat even more than the standard Hawk, but with good management this will really put the hurt on people.

That is just wicked man.
The TSM is a great fit for this design. With all the heat generated you only have to watch for shutdowns and that can be regulated with a good pilot. Good refit of a good design.
