Description:
The ProtoMech quad melee weapon system is a combination of physical modifications to quadruped ProtoMechs designed to improve their damage potential in melee attacks. While the system looked like the same type of cosmetics introduced in the first generation of ProtoMechs, added reinforcements and articulation made it possible for quadruped ProtoMechs to use them as effective weapons in their own right. Developed in the Wars of Reaving, the technology eventually made its way to the Inner Sphere via the Hellís Horses Clan, where it has appeared sporadically ever since.

Game Rules:
Quadruped ProtoMechs equipped with the quad melee weapon system add 2 points of damage to the ProtoMechís base damage in a Frenzy attack for every 5 tons of ProtoMech weight (or fraction thereof). A critical hit to the ProtoMechís quad melee weapon system slot destroys enough of these physical modifications to render the system useless.

 Requires one critical slot to be allocated in each of the Torso
 Not allowed if Biped, or Glider is selected for the unitís Chassis
 May mount up to one per unit
