Description:
Lighter in weight, the BattleMech sword lacks the force of the Lyran hatchet, but curiously enough, its more elegant design allows its MechWarrior to land blows with far more accuracy.

Game Rules:
Sword attacks are resolved per the rules of a standard physical weapon attacks, with a -2 to-hit modifier. If successful, the Sword inflicts 1 point of damage for every 10 tons of BattleMech weight plus 1, modified for active Triple-Strength Myomer use.

The weight, critical space and base damage for a sword is based directly on the weight of the BattleMech/IndustrialMech wielding it. A sword’s weight (in tons) is equal to the ’Mech’s tonnage, divided by 20 (rounded up to the nearest half-ton). The number of critical slots a sword requires is equal to the ‘Mech’s tonnage, divided by 15 (rounded up to the nearest whole number).

 May only be mounted in the Arms
 May only be mounted if a Hand Actuator is present in the same location
 Not allowed if Chain Whip, Claws, Flail, Hatchet, Lance, Mace, Retractable Blade, Small Vibroblade, Medium Vibroblade, or Large Vibroblade is mounted in the same location
 May mount up to one per location
