I just got my hands on the RS for the new Jihad book with the WoB Celestial omnis and overall I can't say that I'm impressed.
All are equipped with light engines, small cockpits and C3i computers. Some also contain XL gyros and other high tech thingies which appeared in the TW and they all lack only a few points to full armour. they are also equipped with 10 DHS only (Grigory has 11 and the Archangel 12). I'll try to sum them up here.
Malak - 30t, 7/11 - overall a good chassis IMO, although the internal space is limited.
configurations:
prime - ERML, flamer, light PPC, SRM2 (50 shots) and a retractable blade - no problem here.
A - 6 LMGs (100 shots) in two arrays, 2 flamers, 2 ERMLs, ERSL - this little pest will scare *censored* our of many infantry units.
Preta - 45t, 6/9 - I can imagine quite a few nice configurations on this one, technically it's an upgraded Strider...
configurations:
prime - Snub-Nose PPC, light PPC, retractable blade and AMS (12 shots with CASE  ) - well, ... *cough* what to say...
A - 4 ERMLs, 8 iJJs and a TC - maybe as a scout hunter
Grigori - 60t, 4/6 - looks pretty tough... I heard that it should act as a fire support.
configurations:
prime - MRM 20 (12 shots), LRM 15 (16 shots), light PPC, streak SRM 4 and a retractable blade - the firepower isn't that great, I think that the config lacks focus.
A - heavy PPC, 2 MPLs, 2 ERMLs, sSRM 6 (15 shots) - works for me
Deva - 70t, 4/6 - a prime brawler chassis.
configurations:
prime - Gauss rifle (8! shots), 3 light PPCs, retractable blade - and that's all folks...
A - MML 7 (17 LRM and 14 SRM shots), RAC/5 (60 shots), light PPC, ERSL, 2 ERMLs, TC - this one saves the chassis in my eyes.
Seraph - 85t, 3/5, TSM - tough and slow
configurations:
prime - UAC/10 (30 shots), 2 MML 5s (24 LRM and 20 SRM shots), Snub-Nose PPC, streak SRM-6 (15 shots), retractable blade - okay, it looks like something that can cause a lot of damage at short range. What are the streak SRMs good for?
A - Heavy PPC, plasma rifle (20 shots), MPL, ERML, TAG, 5 iJJs and a TC - this one probably wants to jump around all day, but that's hardly a thing I'd want to do with an 85t machine.
Archangel - 100t, 3/5, compact engine and full armour - it's tough, but with that engine the carrying capacity isn't that great.
prime - heavy PPC, plasma rifle (20 shots), 3 JJs, GECM, retractable blade, TC - armoured as a turtle and just as dangerous. I'd expect something more from a top-weight assault.
A - 2 heavy PPC, Snub-Nose PPC, 2 ERMLs and heat sinks (19 total) - again, that's a disappointment for me.
So, what do you say?
