The fluff clearly explains the mechs capabilities and this does explains the DCMS rationale for this kit. Especially with the C3 slave assist. But I do agree with mud that the Streak system may have been a better choice for all the right reasons. And being a tad ammo dependent might force the pilot to return instead of staying to fight which can potentially be good or bad. More bad to me though if it is trying to maintian a role as a spotter. Still I like the design a lot as well as the fluff.
Well, in campaign the ammo dependency may be a problem, but if you manage to empty all ammo magazines (staying in battle for a little over 24 rounds, you know, first you need to get in range) than you are probably lucky. I make no illusions about durability of this 'Mech. About six good hits causing at least 10 points of damage will probably be enough to go internal and destroy something important. With numbers of PPCs, pulse lasers, ... fielded these days

You do make a good point about actually being able to empty out those ammo bins. Especially with it's armor despite the improvements. And considering everything, it can still do it's job well as a scout killer. At least I think that's what it's role was. Counter to the Wolfhound and stuff right?

Maybe, but you can never be sure with some 3050 'Mechs. I wanted something that can cause damage that WFT-1s (or any 'Mechs armed with weapons with many damage groups) can exploit with their crit seekers at range. If someone wants SRMs than there is Strider prime and for big guns there is the Blitzkrieg.
