================================================================================================
Overview:
In May 3067 the graduating classes of the Luthien Acadamy Of Military Design got a
challenging task to accomplish.
They had to design a BattleMech with the latest CAD-technology and under following terms:
1. Take a classic BattleMech design used in the 3rd Succession War.
2. Construct an OmniMech chassis upon this basis.
3. Suggest weapon configurations for that chassis; at least four but not more than seven.
3. a) The primary configuration has to be based upon the original weapon layout of the
classic design.
3. b) If possible include following configuration types: city-fighter, LRM-support,
fire-support/sniper.
All OmniMechs were graded by a committee and loaded into a battlefield simulation program.
The VTR-O was presented by Student Dick Brave.
Capabilities:
The Omni-Victor has heavy standard armor and the original speed but saves tonnage because of
an EndoSteel frame and a light engine.
Student Brave decided to give it fixed jumpjets to ease the training of new omni-pilots: "If
you're piloting a Victor you'll always have jump jets under your butt!"
Two ER medium lasers were fitted into the left arm as fixed equipment to ensure its 12 fixed
DHS's getting used.
Brave had a special concept for placing the Victors pod space: The right arm is meant to
hold the main weaponry and the right torso carries the ammo, additional heat sinks and/or
electronics. All configurations carry a light to medium missile launcher plus ammo in the
left torso pod. The head carries a C3-slave or devensive weaponry.
All this will lead to a quick adaption of pilots with any omni-configuration of the Victor.
The primary configuration lives up to the original:
A huge UAC with lots of ammo and a potent crit seeker make it a formidable close range
brawler while the C3-slave will make it dangerous at medium ranges too.
The A is more of a long range sniper with a gauss rifle tied into a TC plus an LRM rack.
B and C are long range and medium range repectively support machines able to throw a
respectable load of missiles.
The D configuration is an 80 ton c3-capable harasser.
Finally the E can lead a lance of C3-equipped mechs into battle and sports mostly long range
weaponry and a TC.
The trials in the academys battlefield simulation program were a great
success!
Almost each configuration worked well within its intended role though critics pointed out
the large amount of fixed equipment here (all in all 8 tons).
The D configuration was hampered by its low damage output and was called too heavy and
expensive for what it does.

Overview:
In May 3067 the graduating classes of the Luthien Academy Of Military Design got a
challenging task to accomplish.
