Overview:
A design made by Clan Jade Falcon but later taken up by Clan Hell's Horses and Clan Star
Adder, the Caster (known in the Inner Sphere as the Jabberwocky) is a versatile OmniMech
capable of taking on a variety of roles.
The Prime configuration is designed as a generalist skirmisher.
Capabilities:
The Jabberwocky is built on a Foundation E50 Endo Steel chassis, which supports a Redline
300 XL engine and 10 tons of Forging Omni-J35 armor plating. This provides it a good mix of
speed and durability. As for its electronics, a Model J-D 067 provides communications and a
Hawkeye 60 handles targeting and tracking; a default cooling package of 12 double heat sinks
is also provided.
The Prime configuration features 6 JF Standard Jump Jets, providing seasoned Clan
MechWarriors the capability to employ an acrobatic movement style. It also features an ER
PPC in the left torso, a Streak SRM 6 launcher with one ton of reloads in the right, four
arm-attached Small Pulse Lasers (two per arm), and two Anti-Personnel pods in the legs. This
enables a fluid combat style that best lends itself to skirmisher tactics. Finally, an ECM
Suite is included to provide the 'Mech with electronic warfare capabilities and an
additional double heat sink to make it sink as much waste heat as it can put out.
The ER PPC in particular has a weaker cooling jacket due to the extra double heat sink being
able to handle that slight excess - thus justifying the slight savings of the downgrade -
while the platform itself provides a cockpit cowl (which can complicate ejection) and uses
standardized parts.
