"Hello, Dorian Sukhanov."
*Turns to SD"
"Being a gunner on a warship is exciting, but I have never done much else so I would not know. But when you pull the triggers and those Naval Autocannons fire for the first time, you get a feeling for the power of a warship. Some of the shells for those Naval Autocannons are the size of small battlemechs on the bigger Leviathin and Nightlord Battleships. There is a lot of power in those guns. The Storm Crow on which I serve has a great package of weapons and good speed, but light armor, so we try to keep our guns firing at their maximum range" _________________ The snow raven wastes nothing, A scavenger par excellence, it makes use of materiels abandoned by others. Yeah, yeah, navy is cool... until you discover that damned spacer syndrome. It makes me feel sick when I just enter Drop Ship, so I'm stuck with ground forces.
Hey, Delta, para, come and join our little celebration...

"I respect the ground forces, but in my mind the Warship dominates the battlefield. Currently i am awaiting transfer to a larger vessel, as per Clan Snow Raven custom. After every tour of duty, which last one year, we are rotated to a larger vessel if our commander recommended it. My first tour was aboard the Fredasa Class Corvette Black Beard, my second aboard the Lola II Class Destroyer Bloody Talon. My latest tour of duty was on the Sovetskii Siyuz Class Cruiser Storm Crow. I am hoping for a transfer to our largest warship- The Mckenna Class Battleship James Mckenna, but more likely it will be a Nightlord or Texas class vessel. Next round is on me boys!"

If you think dropships are bad, try a sub-orbital HALO jump. Fun, but it WILL make you puke unless you have an iron gut...
I just hope this doesn't start another peanut war...its been aweful calm as of late...
That aside, what kind of gun do you fire? One of the MNPPCS? NAC? NL? Or are you one of the missile guys?

"Well on the Storm Crow, the vessel I saw the most action on, I was the turret commander/gunner for the foreward Imperator 20 Class Naval Autocannon on the left side of the ship. Since a warship presents a smaller target when heading straight towards an enemy, the foreward turrets see the most use." _________________ The snow raven wastes nothing, A scavenger par excellence, it makes use of materiels abandoned by others. Hi there. ::hits Dorian hard in the head with a peanut:: Sorry, didn't mean to hit quite so hard there. Think of it as seasoning.
A turret gunner, eh? So you pilot an Urbie?
Me, I'd rather my 'Mech to some overgrown WarShip. For starters, just imagine how annoying it is to have some moron driving, while you do nothing more than cling tightly to the weapons controls.
So, do you see much action on Storm Crow? Or does Mountbatton steal all the glory?

"Hehehe...well, the Storm Crow has seen enoguh action to date, and several of the battles have seen me at the controls of a Naval Autocannon. The Mountbatton does see more action. Because the Sovetskii Soyuz Cruisers have light armor, so we are kept mostly to pursuing and planetary bombardment. When we do see action, it is incredibly long ranged, to minimize damage to the Storm Corw. Like I said, I hope to become a part of one of the battleships so I can see more engagements like they were at the Battle of Jutland: Short range, ship to ship duels."

Seraph walks up and confiscates the peanut tube.
"Enough of that youngin's. Let the new guy alone for a bit before you bombard him."
Starts to walk away.
"And remember, you do have to clean up after yourselves, remember?"
Nods at Alexis. Returns to his table with ralgith.
"Now Colonel, I'm being serious with you. I'm getting tired of all this fancy dam techno-crap. I want some reliable equipment here, not this new-fangled stuff. Yeah, yeah. It works better and stuff. When it works at all!"
Grumbles more.

I remember that, it actually may be one of things that started it. Bad jump and than combat drop (in one week). I received some special training for field officers, but thanks to some miscalculation I was released too soon. This in combination with limited fuel for landing thrusters (you know, Dragon is not at home in the air) almost killed me. When I landed I cursed everything and everyone. I thank my ancestors and everything involved that I wasn't forced to use universal battle suit.

"Sounds interesting. I have seen a few hot combat drops, but only from the viewport in my turret heads up display, and only in the distance. Looked exciting, something worthy of a warrior."
