I've recently created a series of Battlemechs that I'm wondering people's opinion on. They're 100-Ton Assaults that each revolve around a theme.
StealthCat
ArmoredCat
ArtilleryCat
MeleeCat
BallisticCat
EnergyCat
MissileCat
AquaCat
I'm not really sure if they're any good or not, but I'm interested in your opinion.
P.S. Enjoy the cat puns!

Stealth Cat:
Has enough heat sinks. RISC Hyperlaser is a questionable choice since it is made with unstable explodium. ERPPC with capacitor may be a better choice.
Armored Cat:
The pure longevity provided by the armor is largely undercut by the systems with limited lifespans. I consider MASC a dangerous weakness in this design, also consider a super charger instead. The UAC doesn't really have enough ammo on its own, The RAC does have a respectable amount of ammo. Range profile is a bit short given its mobility, but thats less of an issue then some would complain about. Mixing Hardened armor with a small cockpit is asking to spend more time trying to stand up then advancing, with corresponding difficulties in seat belt checks.
Artillery Cat:
Yes that is certainly an Artillery carrying platform. But I think there are more efficient methods of getting artillery delivered to the battlefield. One on one, It would have difficulty dealing with another assault mech. It just doesn't carry the ammo capacity to insure enough damage to take out another heavily armored target. And it has no secondary weapons to keep going once the bins go dry. The Dangers of Small cockpits and hardened armor once again show up.
Melee Cat:
This is sub-optimal in my opinion. Mixed Melee weapons limit your options, and frankly if you're going to go melee, you should get TSM. Reducing to 95 tons would also improve your available tonnage at the loss of a bit of armor. Small cockpit and Hardened armor again, which is worse on a melee design where you're going to get kicked. Since Streak and TSM don't mix, those and the MASC can be nixed in favor of enough energy weapons to run TSM efficiently. Could add a Super charger as well.
Ballistic Cat:
Gork and Mork would be proud. Any non Ork procurement board are going to say no. The Ammo in the Center Torso is certainly a choice, especially with how much of it there is. And the Leg mounted rifle is also a choice.
Energy Cat:
I'm not sure where you were going with this, like you know that the improved weapons are strictly not as good as standard clan weapons? PPC could be a large pulse laser, Large laser could be an ER Large laser. It could be considered oversinked, but that could also just mean you have the capability to go upto ERPPCs easilly.
Missile Cat:
I look at the Streak LRMs and the MRM and immediately want to replace them with 4 clan LRM-20's. The only question is what do I have to do to get them to fit. Ammo in the CT is as always a choice. The pair of jump jets in the leg is kinda funny to me.
Aqua Cat:
Harjel II vs Harjel is a debate. Basic Harjel makes you impervious to breaching checks, but Harjel II only breaches on a 12, and does offer some regeneration. I'd get the ammo into the arms where they can't just kill the mech on a TAC. I'd also probably trade out some ER Medium lasers for more LRT ammo. Maybe some Laser AMS systems as well. LRTs are your best killers under water, and Laser AMS would help protect you from return fire from them. This has been by far one of the more balanced designs.
Death Cat:
Heh. I have one of these. Solid design.
Overall, needs Fluff. A lot of these designs need an explanation on what you were thinking or going for. Without that I can't judge if you're trying to be funny and make intentional design choices, or if you're genuinely making design mistakes. Most of these designs would be vulnerable to more refined variants of the same theme, which is fine if that's what you're going for, but less so if you're using my standard metric of make the best version of a concept you can.
