Overview:
Designed as an export upgrade to the HER-6D for the AFFS to help bolster the depleted ranks
of the Federated Suns military, the HER-7D would make several designs changes to address the
egregious errors of its predecessor. There would be great difficulty moving HER-7D models to
the Federated Suns as routes had to be established that avoided the Confederation and Clan
Star League Space (the Confederation in particular would confiscate the mechs for their own
forces). Additionally with conflict breaking out between the Free Worlds League and Wolf
Empire there would be considerable consternation in allowing available Hermes II units to
leave the FWL at all. This would result in almost as many HER-7D's ending up in the hand's
of the FWLM as in the AFFS.
Capabilities:
The Hermes II HER-7D would replace the Clan-grade ultra AC-10 of the 7A with an IS RAC5.
Three tons of ammo would accommodate the new weapon. Light-ferro-armor would be added to the
design as well increasing the overall protection of the mech.
