Comment: Clan munch mechs with fluff make average for me... If you want clan munch take the Galahad or the Hohiro or the Warhawk.

Don't ruin a perfectly good battlemech name and build a munchy clan machine with no fluff.

Sure, I know it can kill a lance of IS heavies with not a single issue, but its a NON OMNI design which means its not going to draw a clan XL engine. Meaning your premise is very flawed unless you've got very good fluff.

BattleMech: Renegade REN-1B

Comment: Eh, its okay. I'm not so sold on it. But, I can see its expensive charm glittering on the street corner.

Even ambush combat requires you to have some ranged weaponry. Heck the Panther does it with a PPC. Well I suppose the ER Mediums do yeoman's duty there but its not exactly a perfect science the ambush is.

In close its potent and reminds me of the Crusader esque type missile volley at close range.

BattleMech: Scorpion SCP-20X-1B
Rating: 1.50
Comment: okay... Its got less firepower than some 35-45 ton mechs. Yet expects to survive with an XL engine and no jump jets, and weak thin rear armour.

I'm disliking the C3 Master, and all the high tech this mercenary unit has... Its starting to make my skin crawl.

BattleMech: Panther MKII

Comment: FWL is no where near the clan border. Explain how they got them. Which clan made them? Why would that clan reinforce the PPC barrel, and move the lasers in such a way to punch?

They mount weapons in the torso and ignore upgrading weapons to be melee used because its against the honour system and its wasteful.

I like the electronics setup but your weapons suite is sure weak even for a clan 20 tonner. For a 35 ton clan mech to be this light on weapons is kind of odd in my mind.

I think that this mech has potential but it leaves too many unanswered and weird questions.

Like the year as well, its well too early for the Nova Cats, or Ghost Bears to be making Panther setups in DCMS space. Because they're not even there yet. So the massive quantities you list would be impossible to occur.

Clan Wolf in 2820 isn't a story line... The Panther just doesn't fit that setup. How'd it get in clan space to begin with.

BattleMech: Wakizashi WKI-3X
Rating: 1.50
Comment: Okay, let me explain before I get mobbed by unhappy mech warriors. It needs to alpha strike and max jump to turn on the TSM. My question is what happens when your out of ammo. Sure its 24 rounds but sooner or later you'll have an issue keeping the heat at producing 0.

You need to keep jumping to keep your heat at 9 which means your to hit rolls will suck. It needs a way to balance on 22. Closest it can get is 14 (ER Large and run) + 9 for 23, or +7 for 21, or +10 for 24. None of which are the right number. Now if you believe you can always walk to stay in melee range you either crazy or lucky. (well it can hit 22, full jump with ER Large and MRM 10)

Which means it has no secondary method to stay at 9 and its only got a 24 round endurance. Knowing this I'd play ranged weapon tag and avoid you until you were running low on chances to hit me with the weapon.

BattleMech: Bushwacker BSW-S3
Rating: 3.00
Comment: This design accomplishes a lot. Turning a joke into a viable combat design, is the best part. However, even upgraded it still doesn't really seem to make my list of really good mechs I want to use. Its good, and something I'd be happy with, but its just not versitile enough.

The XL engine bugs me slightly as the Light would make more sense but its explained so I'm not going to mark it up or down on that.

Kind of worries me that anything that can shoot 600+ meters can hit this thing with no retaliation. So, I think that its a good pick, but 5/8, is kind of funky speed for a heavy. Its more a medium mech speed for IS troops which means its going to mingle with lots of jump capable designs or never really get to use its top end speed. Which it pays for with an XL.

BattleMech: Centurion CN9-F
Rating: 4.00
Comment: A great Centurion. I've just never liked the design all that much. I just can't handle its low damage ranged potential and low in close potential. Though the Davion Heavy Guards probably would be drawing top notch tech in about 3055 because they're a top end unit. In 3050 times I could see them drawing something like this because the best technology hasn't quite propogated fully yet.

With both ferro-fibrous and Endo Steel, it leaves this mech in the odd 3039 pile of units. Everything but the heat sinks make sense per the 3039 rules.

BattleMech: Lion PRIME
Rating: 1.50
Comment: I scratch my head over this one. Close ranged weapons is 31 with a run. Long range is 17 with a run.

Funny thing the number of heat sinks is no where near either number. So either your 3 short or completely need to redesign the weapons to work with just the basic number.

Although this is clan tech and being inefficent usually doesn't get you killed because you have the god weapons. I'd swear this thing has more armour than many other 55,60 ton OMNI clan designs as well which is a nice point.

The light active probe interests me, but why is it there? I'd like an explanation. Usually, I like the full probe, the light gear is usually just a waste of time.

Basically you have a damage out put of around 45 without producing any heat. At the same time if you over heat by 5 your commiting yourself in a clan battle. Too many clan machines find 5/8 too easy to keep up with, which means you'll have lost your speed edge.

The targeting computer is nice... but most clan mech warriors believe they are a crutch, and Smoked Jaguars weren't exactly known for being anything but bigoted and very agressive.

For them to design a new OMNI with a tar-comp I'd be suprised. It'd fit the innovators (Diamond Shark, Burrock) or the ones most worried about the best survival rates (Blood Spirits, Ghost Bear, Snow Raven, Hells Horses).

As for an unknown omni in any PGC. Heck in a clan battle before hand you TRANSMIT to your opponent designations and pilots of all machines. So they'd immeaditly know you had a "Lion" which will be another trial you fight because every clan wants new toys.

Its an average mech with too many flaws really to score well.

BattleMech: Enforcer ENF-4R2
Rating: 3.50
Comment: Its a good refit. I like the idea that every unit that has Enforcers will now have multiple upgrade options. This being the simplest but not neccesarily the best.

The standard engine and RAC I love.

The heat sinks I'm happy with, since your not going to jump jet and fire too many RAC shells, so your heat should do fine.

Armour and jump jets are perfect in my mind. Two compliants though. Its got back armour now.

My Panther would actually have to work hard against an opposing Enforcer now. Good work.

Though the time period is wrong as well. I also dislike the weird way the Enforcer works. The closer it gets to you the LESS lethal it is, at least compared to other designs who gain more firepower as they close with you.

BattleMech: Roach Roach-1A
Rating: 3.50
Comment: As a bandit mech, I'd be very happy. As a guy whose mech forces frequently dueled with pirates... I'd be almost very unhappy as all these kind of mechs (Fast Jumpers) are a serious pain to hit and do damage more out of proportion than anything else in a raid.

Its not the best mech ever for the job but its got the armour to do it right, especially in the less deadly 3025 time period.

Drops off real fast as the time line advances. Good work Khayman.
