I'm a bit frustrated. Mordel.Net produces very nice looking record sheets of custom units, so I created an account here so I could make record sheets for my revised introtech equipment designs (Basically reigning in introtech rather than putting a band-aid on it in the form of supporting technology.)
In MegaMek: For something like the AC2 and AC5, I would save the design 2 tons overweight for each autocannon. I would then edit the PDF and remove the minimum range, rename the weapon "AC" or "Light AC", increase the damage by 1, then print the sheet.
The problem is that the record sheets MegaMek produces look like shit and use some sort of times new roman font. Mordel's looks very nice, but it refuses to make a PDF if the design is invalid, which I don't understand. It's not public, so who cares?
I can't open these sheets in LibreOffice Draw either, they just f*!k up majorly (take look at the attachments.)
Also: I never wanted to manually edit record sheets. My original plan was to edit MegaMek's source code, hoping to find a configuration file for weapons... NOPE! all of them are hard-coded. Goddamn 20-year old Java jank...
How am I going to make these custom sheets? is my method via megamek my best bet at the moment? Did I gloss over an invalid unit option?

A lot of potential problems with printing illegal sheets that I'd need to consider, so not sure I want to go down that route. But it sounds like what you really want is a way to create custom weapons and equipment. That is on my list, but there's no timetable on it. Will probably start small, allowing a few things, and then grow from there.
As to LibreOffice, I can't say why it does that for you. Doesn't look like you posted an attachment, so I can't see what it looks like for you. It opens fine in all the PDF readers though, so must be something weird with Draw. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator
