Even though this variant keeps the ER lasers and the RL's will deliver a really heavy punch the -X2 is a rather bad choice for pirats. It can be used to break enemy formations with superior firepower but after only one such attempt it will be left with only a fraction of this firepower. Besides that I cannot understand the ratio behind RL-15's or -20's. Instead of 4 RL-15 it could carry 8 RL-10. So it would be more flexible in launching missiles. |

Sorry, the whole Endosteel and Double heat sinks I'm not really seeing the outter rim areas. Sure the RL and ER mediums I can see but custom space based production facilities for your chassis when your hardscrabble nation I can't see.
So the endosteel just confuses me as its a pricier item to construct. The double heat sinks are less so because I'm not too sure how prevailent that tech is in 3067. but still seems like a hard thing for the kind of low end nations who buy things to keep repairing. |

Pity. This was a good chassis, especially the X1. Yes, the rocket launchers will inflict more damage in less time than lasers could, but once you use them, they're gone. And you're left with only a pair of ER meds. Not very impressive.
I also question the thought process behind this design. Rocket launchers are intended as a cheap weapon. If some periphery nation could get ahold of this chassis, which has expensive endo-steel and ER lasers, do you really think they'd give it rocket launchers? The presence of ER weapons and endo-steel is completely counter to the only advantage of the RLs - their cheapness. This is almost as contradictory as the RL Anubis, with RLs and an XL engine. |

Those RLs will actually give the light 'mechs this should be facing something to think about before charging in. It doesn't take too many of these to put a serious hurtin' on a Locust. |

A great poor mans mech. I actually come to love this mech when playing a campaign, they are so easy to keep running. The periphery is an interseting setting, combining 3025 mechs with newer weapons. This kicks the crap outta most of them. Great hit and run mech. Think of it as the poor mans Commando. |
