Yes this mech is a little "too good" and won't make you any friends if you use it, as has been stated in the previous reviews. But as far as just rating this as a mech design it gets a 5 since no one can deny that it is one of the best mechs in the game. Just don't use it too often or you run the risk of turning people off to the game. At least it's a "stock" design so you won't be accused of being a huge nerd when you kick everyone's butt with it. |

Sorry, guys, but this seems like a 'cheater' mech. Bucket loads of pulse lasers slaved to a TC makes it too easy to beat something. If youre going to coddle a new player, yeah, give them one of these, but dont let them take the same mech every time out. Or theyre going to throw a royal tantrum when you beat this thing.
I cant deny its effectiveness, but I just think that this is a mech best kept under lock and key. |

Six pulse lasers and a Targeting computer will be able to kill just about anything. The Jump Jets are a nice touch as well. The Viper is probably just about the Munchiest 'mech on record. The Viper second-line pilots probably regard Viper assignment as penal duty, as the 'mech works so well so as to give most opponents against it. You will win, true, but there is no honor to victory when it is won at the price of an overbid. |
