I don't care too much for the primary variant of the Masakari. It has 4 PPCs, yet even when playing very aggressive you can't fire more than 3. But of course there's always "that guy" who goes around firing all 4 thinking he's going to blow people away, only to realize that taking out this shut down Masakari is pathetically easy, or if he's lucky, that he has no movement points the next turn. Hardly what I would call a winning strategy.

A tough machine to beat, this mech runs real hot. The LRM-10 almost seem like a 2nd thought but it can put down withering firepower if u intend to only utilise 2 ERPPCs instead of 3 due to the massive heat problems.
The TC is a nice touch and you are pretty much guranteed kills aplenty with those ERPPCs.

The firepower on this one is beautiful in theory only. I know the Clans field a lot of designs that mount energy weapons which will overheat the design. But unlike the Black Hawk, this one also carries ammo with it, so it is quite impossible to go all-out nuts with regularity. An alpha-strike would make this one overheat by up to 26.... With only 4 main weapons, you will also feel the absence of every single gun.
So, the potential of destroying another unit with a single strike is nice, but not really a reality. That it is still very dangerous, makes it all the more noticable. It takes skill to pilot this one, I want to acknowledge that.
The ultimate reason for the low rating is that it actually costs way more than any of the other variants of TRO:3050!!!! Yes, more expensive by some 300 points than the C, due to the 4 head-chopping weapons! Which is really way too dire for such a difficult design!

A mech with 'Crusader Faction' scrawled all over it.
The power that can be unleashed by FOUR ER PPCs can make assault pilots cringe. Sixty points of damage is nothing to sneeze at. Thankfully this mech can only cut loose with all of its PPCs after long intervals. The LRM 10 is more of an after thought on this mech, but still a potent ranged weapon. Good for use when the mech has to cool down, yet continue to provide fire support.
This mech is a beating stick, plain and simple. Pretty good for first time Clanners. Other than minding your heat and ammo, there arent any fancy tricks or tactics for this thing. Just walk into range and start beating.

Well, this is one of the classic clan mechs with one of the classic failings heat is a major problem on this mech, the LRM ammo is at a huge risk of exploding during an alpha strike. I would only use this as a long range support mech firing with 3PPC's one turn then 2PPC's and the LRM's next turn to reduce the heat. The targeting comp really helps though.
