This thing is what I like to call 'Barrage 'Mech'. Hellbringer A certainly lacks the heat dissipation to handle all it's guns, which is strange, because there are no clear range bracket that would ease the pressure on heat sinks. Moreover the ammo load is almost as thin as the armour on the base chassis. And then we have the unfortunate choice of Narc when the Artemis would have allowed the 'Mech to carry two additional tons of equipment... what were the designers thinking about? Well, I think that the ER lasers, which produce enough heat to keep all the freezers busy while the machine is running, are meant to snipe as the Hellbringer A moves to get in short range with it's guns. As soon as the AC and LRMs are in short range one of the large lasers goes silent and the other weapons start the show. It's easy to see that the ML, AC and missiles produce 13 heat, so there is no serious overheating even if the pilot attempts to Narc the enemy. The problems start if the laser sniping and following projectile weapon fire fail to kill or cripple the enemy. The armour will hold just long enough to execute this maneuver, so if the enemy survives there is a good chance that it will soon gain the upper hand and kill the Hellbringer unless it's pilot manages to end the battle quickly. The A configuration is geared toward trials, where it can be a worthy opponent, but if you take it in a battle against the spheroids then don't complain, it was never meant to take part in such situations. Of course that the Mad Dog is better, but the Hellbringer A is far from useless. |

The Hellbringer has always been plagued by low armor. However the only variant that has any decency is the Prime. This variant is just pathetic in its lack of... well a role. |

This variant simply isnt doing the Hellbringer Prime justice. It has virtually no knockout punch weapons which is a major liability and 2 of its main weapons are pegged to the ammo bins. Very shallow ammo bins in fact.
Losing the LRM-20 after just 6 rounds reduces your firepower by 2/5 and the UAC will go silent in just 4 more rounds which leaves you with little more than 2 ErLarges to plink with.
Not good. |

The Prime avoids a low rating by just destroying everyone at long range before its weak armour becomes a problem.
The Alpha variant has no knock out punch, its got a sanding weapons load out. Which is lethal to have when your mech has so little armour for a heavy. The secondary weapons aren't all that great, and relying on UAC 5 or LRM 20 for your crit finding isn't a winning proposition.
So all in all an average jack of all trades mech. That you can see being fielded if no one really can figure out what is needed. |

A good general-service 'mech. I'd remove the Narc system at the first opportunity though; replace it with an Artemis pod and a heat sink, and you're good to go.
Like all Loki's, the armor's thin for it's weight. |
