The basic Mad Dog Chassis is well suited for being equipped with various weapon systems. There is enough free tonnage and crit space to allow pretty wild mix of weapons and still the chassis is well armoured and fast. One of my favourites.
I would classify this as Barrage 'Mech. Sure that you can use the LRMs at range, but with this ammo load it isn't that attractive choice is it? Just look what the 'Mech can do with them when it closes under 7 hexes on the enemy. 0 modifiers to fire for MPLs and LRMs and no heat is produced even while running. The spread of damage from the LRMs will come in play as well since you already showered the enemy with laser fire while moving to get in range. Just like many other clan machines, the Mad Dog Prime works well while performing a direct aggressive strike against the enemy. I can't help myself, but to give it anything less would be a crime against my nature. |

This is a good Omni, enough said. Your best bet is to stay at range and expend your LRM ammo. If he tries to get close, let him and let him have it.
Clan LRMs have no mins which means its devastating up close as well. So if you are bold player take advantage of that; its good to deliver 30 LRMs right into the enemies chops. Just watch the ammo.
If ya a more cautious player, expend your ammo at the range and play run and gun with the large pulses, you have the dhs for it. |

I don't know what to say that hasn't been covered in reviews by other people... But I need to say something. So, here it is: when I get to CHOOSE the variant but not the chassis this is the Vulture I pick. Nice weapons mix, and nice speed too.
On a side note, this design looks at first glance like it was made in the FWL LOL. Lotsa pulses and LRMs. |

First six rounds of an engagement a Mad Dog is the god of death. Dealing more damage than even its big brother the Timberwolf.
However, that comes at the price of a serious lack of LRM ammo. The armour is average but with Large CLAN pulses your expected to keep the range modifiers up anyway.
Best as a long ranged support mech, but can do wonders as a duelist with an ammo dump near by . |

quintessential clan fire support mech and a great sight, open up the long range missiles on anything which gets into range. What else can you say? The stratagies surrounding this one are pretty simple. Just watch the heat. Try not to link the lasers with missiles, use them seperately. |
