I was just looking at the CBT site or is it the BT site now that they have gained the rights to remove the Classic part of the title, and i noticed the quick start for the new RPG. It may possibly invalidate the entire 3rd ed or CBT RPG; No longer does it use d10s but now it uses 2d6 like the rest of BT. But it may keep the life paths as it keeps many of the attributes from 3rd ed. Anyone know more?

I wish they would do away with the life paths...really if I want a pre-done character I would wait till someone is running an event at a con and play there. The idea of building a character means you the player comes up with what happens and why and the GM either allows it or doesn't.

Life paths as written take that way and give out pre-canned NPCs for the players to run.

Glad to hear about the change in the dice, but wish they would drop the life paths idea all together.

No wonder why the fanpro version was 50% off at gencon /shakes fist.

Those life path are a PITA. It reminds me of old school Traveler. It does add flavor, but considering your character can die so quickly in a mech, it is way too much effort Smile

This new RPG based on CBT has D6 instead of D10 rules? I just recently purchased the CBT RPG that has D10 rules. Oh well, I can probably use my copy.

Yup, the game designers are trying to unify game mechanics, including the dice used.
