The thread concerning the Warhammer got me to thinking about this BH varient that I did once.
1. Strip out all weapons.
2. Insert PPC in place of Right Arm laser array.
3. Replace Head AMS with medium laser.
4. Downgrade SRM 2 Streak rack.
Armor is not as important now, as that PPC means that the mech can engage at much longer ranges. It loses out on short-range firepower, but it can now snipe at ranges most light mechs still can't equal in either weapons or defense. If you did it right, you could probably even threaten a lighter-end medium.
