The Riot mech was designed for riot control. The mech was easy to repair and
could be easily modified. It appears similar to the Clan's Cougar though it
was built first. It is an improved version of rim-01a

==Capabilities:==
The machine guns were mounted in boxes on either side of the mech. These boxes
acted as arms. The large laser was use to destroy vehicles at a distance. The
Riot mech never leaves the city.

02a is almost identical with those variants found in TRO - Flamers and MGs are good, but there is still the problem with mobility and light armor. It may deal with infantry, but heavier weapons mean serious problem.

LRM variant is a little strange. It may fire indirectly, but removes MGs and again places ammo to head. in the city the LRMs may be quite disadvantageous because of minimal range.

SRM variant weapons mix seems to be the best one for city. One laser can be replaced with flamer, but there is still mobility and armor problem. Using smaller SRM launcher and two tons of ammo would allow it to use infernos (= bane of vehicles), even if it's somewhat risky because of the amount of ammo carried.

For its intended role as a riot-suppression-mech it`s outfitted well. MG´s and Flamers will crush any infantry with ease and the Large Laser will make short work with any civilian vehicles used by the rioters!
The armor is enough for fighting riots! Only drawback I see so far is the lack of JJ that would be very usefull in cities.
This one is NOT designed to fight a combat force! A BattleMech, a combat-vehicle or even organized infantry with some serious weapons will turn it into scrap very fast, so don´t even try!

The other variants don´t make much sense to me because their weapons are not suited well against rioters in a city. The weapons would call it a combat mech but their armor wouldn´t!

The other variants are made by the people who use them. Riot mech are designed to be easily modified.
