Dennis Miller and George Carlin. I still suffer from humor pains when watching them.
I just got thru watching Miller on HBO and he is current and lethal with his wit. Both give you an appreciation for the human condition, profane as they get.

Gearge Carlin and Dennis miller look very much the same. One is non-political, while the other is. The attitude is the same.

Carlin will talk about anything in a funny way, or find humor in it, and it is a commentary on "things people do"
Miller is always commenting on society, or figures in politics. "what is so funnY about the system"

I'm going to differ with both of you--both Miller and Carlin are very political, it's just that they are such good comics they don't need to rely on just that one subject.

As much as I enjoy the comics mentioned already, by far my favorite is Rodney Dangerfield.I saw him live in the '80s and I can still recall how bad my stomach hurt from laughing. He was such a blue collar comic, and just his look could make you fall off your chair ( Oh and Benny Hill too!)
