I am damn mad! Why the hell isent the Marathon series listed up there! the game was the best of its kind at its time and its story is still the best scifi story i have ever experienced

And Everquest is...*shiver* Brings back memories of the "addiction". Basically, there is no "best" overall. It's usually best in category. I lean toward Duke 3D though, no other game made irreverent pop culture and blowing things up so funny.

I just threw the games up that I could think of at the time. I personally hated Diablo and Diablo II...so it never really popped into mind. Everquest is on there cause many people do like it as the best game (i never got the appeal myself). I mean...with 400,000 users...most of which still pay for their accounts...there has to be some appeal, no?
Marathon was more of a MAC series. Marathion 2 for the PC sucked in almost all ways. Terrible control, lame gameplay...trying to be a Quake killer with a 2d Engine. it was cool for the mac when it came out....but it wasnt a good PC game.

good ole C&C has by far sucked up more of my time than any other PC game out there

I know about Everquest 'cause that succubus had me at one time. People like that game like smokers like cigarettes. You just can't stop yourself. Fortunately, those days are behind me. I would guess the appeal simply stems from the fact that the EQ universe is always moving. Stuff changes from week to week and month to month.

Because....
A. way back in 1.04, I had just gotten a level 50 zon with Silks, SOJ, Eye, Frosts, and Treads (all legit). Then it got bugged and looted during a duel.
B. 1.10 will NEVER come out. It's been pushed back like a year already. And now the team for it, an enitre skill revamp for every last skill, is very small. As in "him".
