OK Not sure if Mordel or Chihawk are gonna move this, but I bought a few packs of the click tech game, and played with it a bit.
The game is alot like what I first thought, being more closely related to a Warhammer style game than the traditional Battletech. If you do not mind the phased turn structure it doesn't play badly.
Things I liked::
The figures are well done. As bad as some of the pictures on the web page looked, the real thing is actually pretty nice.
The scales of the figures are well proportioned in terms of size.
I like the heat dial on the mechs.. Kind of a fun way to track heat.
I like the idea that a Tank can hurt a Mech BADLY if the mech is not careful.
Things I do NOT like::
Either the movement or the weapon ranges are screwed up. The way the game is now, it is way to easy to close to melee range without ever being in balistic range. This makes the cheap units (infantry/grunts) incredibly effective.. far more effective than their battle value would indicate.
Oddly I have been playing around with a rule change that I think stands a good chance of cleaning this up.. I am playing with allowing Mechanized units to fire their weapons at an extended range (double all range modifiers), as long as they pay a -2 penalty to hit. By extending this range(instead of halving movement which might also work), it allows the infantry to hide in terrain, and get closer that way...
The game isn't bad.. though to be honest, it isn't battletech, it doesn't have the same feel. Mechs are not kings of the battlefields, they are marginally better than a Tank, and can easily be killed by a swarm of infantry.
I am going to play with it a bit more and if I can get it the way I want it, I will run at least one battle at Total Con. If they put me in the collectable area instead of the miniatures area, I will be rather irritable.

Fine your choice to move it..
But in any case.. still looking at the figures and the information they give you.. With the exception that the infantry speed is really screwed up, the rest of it isn't bad.
I actually tried a phased movement/fire system this afternoon (like battletech now) which actually worked very well once I cut down the range on the infantry. Oddly when I did this, the feel of the game was alot like the old battletech..
It is funny, I don't like the game much as a MageKnight game system knock off, but with some basic modifications, it actually plays well.
If anyone is interested in trying any of these mods I've been playing around with, let me know and I'll post what mods I have.
