Damn! That was funny!
Reminds me of this guy who was in the AD&D group I was in years back, he was more of a rules lawyer then a player, and every time the DM would fudge things to keep us guess this person would go ballistic. Well the DM finial had enough.
So the next time we all got together, we had moved into searching this wizard's tower...okay I am sure that one has been done by a lot of you before.  ...well the rules lawyer is playing a palidan, who is so goodie two shoes it's enough to make one puke. Well we get into the tower and trust me the nut spent more time arguing over how the DM was handling our attempts then it actually took us to get in to the damn tower.
Once in we start to do the standard room to room sweep. Simple and normal as it goes, well we make it to next to the last floor and we enter a room that has nothing but mirror like items on all the walls. The DM tells us that they are all glowing. Well our mage wants us to not rush in to this one and she wants to study things before we go in. Well brainiac (aka the rules lawyer) wants no of that and he starts telling us that these so-called mirrors are nothing more then that mirrors...so he walks into the room and nothing happens. So he walks over to one mirror touches it, his arm seems to go right into the glass. He is a little surprised but get's in his head that this an illusion and procceds to walk INTO the mirror...the smile on the DM's face was classic...he procceds to tell our rule lawyer friend, that he feels this sudden rush and all he can see is a stream of light then it stops and he is on a barren wasteland and something is moving toward him, cause the ground is shaking and he can see this blurry object in the distance. He elects to stand wait to see what it is...so the GM tells him it's about 3 stories tall, looks like large metal monster with box like arms. So the genius draws his sword and charges...only to have this happen to him..."A bright BLUE bolt of lighting ripps from both box like arms and streaks into you. The pain is unbarible." The GM let's him make his saving rolls, which sadly he fails. And the GM tells him that as he is slowly fading away he see this huge robot like thing raise up it's leg and crush him...
( A cookie to the first person who can tell us WHAT well known robot ended the rules lawyer's short time in the game  )
That was enough to get the point across to our friend that the GM ran the game for the most part...though he didn't show up that regular after that though...

Either that was a Marauder or a Warhammer. Either way, he got what he deserved.

Right on the first guess! The Marauder did him in...and it taught the rest us a very important lesson...NEVER PISS THE DM OFF.

BTW, I told that story to some friends, including a guy who is only used to D&D. Everyone got a good laugh out of it.

Just got this one from Warner's. One of the postes there posted a link to a site he was trying to start with a list of signs to tell that you are too involved in BTech. (Unfortunately, the link to the core list is invalid, but people keep trying to add more.)
Among them:
#34: You talk to a friend in a resturant about such game concepts as weapons and contracts, resulting in the police wanting to talk to you (to which the guy placed next to it that it was the scariest moment of his life.)
#20: You have a dream in which elementals come to your door asking you to be the hero (to which one guy responded that he had a variation on that dream in which it was Yvonne Davion instead of some elementals)
Another guy stated hat some friends told him that he recited an entire chapter of one of the novels in his sleep. Another guy said that he had a dream in which he was Victor.

According to one poster, he set up a friend of his on a blind date; however, the friend broke it to go play Magic.
The blind date was with a stripper who lived not too far from the guy's house.
Meaning either that guy's real hard core, stupid, or both.
