What companies have to realize is that by taking a sucessful line that has been around for what, 15-16 years, they didnt need to change it to be sucessful, and by altering it to a new product, they could have started it seperately for the younger generation and continued the "Classic Battletech" unchanged.

I'm not sure I understand what you are saying here...they ARE continuing the old style of BTech under the name Classic BattleTech...in addition to starting a newer game called MechWarrior: Dark Ages that is set in the same universe, just a couple generations down the road, with a different game system that is (supposedly) remarkably similar to the BattleForce system that many people enjoyed playing...

Will I support what they have done?
No, I've seen what they are now trying to pass off as "Mechs", and I just don't like it. I want to build and paint them not just buy and play.

You can...just not with MechWarrior: Dark Ages...at least not at the moment...perhaps when the market opens up some, they might consider doing metal minis similar to the ones now being offered for Mage Knight...

They have certainly hinted at this possibility before (at least, I seem to remember them doing so)...it just might not be possible to customize your individual 'Mech...although they also said they might look into that as well...

Have I ever seen anyone playing Mage Knight?
Nope, never seen my favorite hobby shop carry any of the products, and I live in washington.

Now, that I consider amazing...why? Because I live in one of the hickest towns of South Carolina, and we have those things selling in a local computer game store...I can't even get any other roleplaying books other than D&D, Star Wars and a few Vampire books (unless I special order them...I think) at the closest thing we have to a gaming store in town (the local Waldenbooks)...but I can get MK packs (if I played the game)...and I think some of the local big name stores also carry a few packs...

Just don't ask me how well they sell anymore...I've never asked...

And in SC's capital of Columbia, the two best gaming stores both carry Mage Knight...

Yeah I've though that was amazing as well. especially considering they are based up here. the hobby shop I go to carried it for a little bit but the packages got dusty and he then discounted them to get them out of the door, other than that they havent carried mage knight at all. he has gotten a couple of the new MWDA stuff for display and truthfully it looks just horrible but hes goingto keep it till it starts to sell then carry it or dump it if it dosent sell.

I got to looking at the comments I made and then I thought about something. Oh yeah Ironwind is going to continue the line.... DUH!!! Oh well more wasted Bandwidth.

My only concern is that. If MWDA does poorly, will they pull the CBT to boost its sales or dump it and go straigth CBT?

And truthfully as long as they bring out some new items here and there (I really want the Anubis Mech, It may be a light but it sooks so COOOOOOL) along with the fluff books. Or decide to go the D&D route and give the rules a complete rewrite (hello realism ) that would keep me happy.
