| Haven't logged in for years. I recently found another CBT addict at work. All of our talk about Battletech had me wondering how all of you have been doing. MY son has also shown interest in learning how to play.

| We moved out to Oregon. Poor Seraph has nobody to play with anymore. Funny thing is, I work with a guy that used to play online with Seraph through Megamech. Small world eh?

They are busy, but not really wroth the bother. It is dominated by two types: 12 year olds who think that strapping on the most expensive toys onto a tank or mech is what makes it "good" despite them loosing with those same machines in every game... they say "Obviously we need MORE unbalanced toys... instead of common sense." And they hate anyone who makes something which makes sense.
The second group are "I am so cool and awesome and know everything there is to know about anything and if you don't play the game my way then you fail!"
I personally think both groups should be marked for forced sterilization.[/img]

| Well it seems that I have not lost my knack for silly tactical mistakes. While playing yesterday I turned my forces a couple of turns too soon and lost a close game. Then again I have not played anything other than 3025 era in years. I guess I need to pick u the new rules. I discovered that many of the rules have been 'clarified', in other words completely changed. I also discovered that ATMs will furthermore be banned from my house. At least until I have been able to read the new rules and make sure that they were used properly. 50 damage in 1 round from 1 weapon on 1 mech seems a BIT excessive.

Yup, ATM 12 - short range ammo, that's 3/6/9, 3 damage per missile grouped in 5 point groups. 50 damage HAD to come from more than just one rack.

Just as a note, there are some new rules I do allow in 3025:
1. Rifles
Basically primitive weapons that come in light, medium and large, and do 3/6/9 respectively for damage. Bigger has longer range, shorter has short range. Does -3 damage to Mechs and anything with modern combat armor, does full damage to anything with BAP of 9 or less (basically noncombat vehicles or "primitive" designs).
2. Primitives
LOVE THEM. Huge inefficient engines, cockpits, horrible armor, and bad weapons. They actually are a ton of fun, and have totally renewed my interest in the game. Against a regular battlemech they are screwed, but as a team they could do some damage. Primitive tanks and aerospace fighters as well as a primitive jump ship exist as well.
3. Fission Engines
Nuclear power. LOVE IT! 
4. Steam Engines
Bwahahahaha
5. Fuel Cells
Okay, I'll admit I'm working on a speedy light mech to call a Tesla...
6. Binary Lasers
Actually a neat concept that combines two lasers into one, and was invented by the FWL during the 3rd Succession War as a way of boosting weapons and power.
7. EW Equipment
Remember the CapCon Raven? There are now rules for its electronic equipment and I love it a lot better then the BAP and ECM.
8. New Infantry Rules
Makes the little buggers hard to kill
Thats all I can remember off the top of my head, but not all that is new is bad. They did give some serious love to the Succession War era and have promised more.

| All I know is that he was stripping armor from my assaults faster that I was thinking it should. @ Raven For your primitives try a crop duster converted for chemical weapons. spray enemy infantry with mustard gas!

LOL They have equipment rules for that now (Sprayer, Industrial Equipment with ammo options including gas).
So... yeah. I built a 10 ton prop driven solar powered crop duster...

Didnt the Lvl 3 Mace with the right equipment do something like 80points of damage or something like that?
